Although it’s been almost ten years since YouTube was first launched and nearly just as long since Google stepped in an purchased the platform, it’s clear that the focus has been on allowing users to find more content, to go from video to video and enjoy what the site has to offer.

The focus hasn’t been put, however, on allowing users to just binge on a certain video, to listen to the track a million times and to view the clip for just as many times. Sure, once the video is done, you can replay it by tapping a single button, but the annoying thing is the fact that you have to go back to the web page and do things manually.

While some have gotten creative and created playlists on the platform containing the same video over and over again and putting it all on repeat, doing this for individual songs straight off from the site is impossible at this point.

There are, however, online tools to help out with this issue, and it’s available for all those who have ever wanted to pull their hair out just so they wouldn’t have to press the repeat button again.

Listen on Repeat is one of those tools that is available online. When browsing YouTube, all you’ll have to do to get your wish is to change the “youtube” in the URL with “listenonrepeat.” When it comes to mobile platforms, however, things are a bit more complicated, so they launched an app for this specific purpose.

Available for both iPhone and iPad, the Listen on Repeat app gives you exactly what you need in one simple package.

The interface is pretty simple and all you’ll have at your disposal is a search bar which you can use to look for the video you like straight on YouTube. The results list will likely be just as long as on the actual site, although you’ll at least get rid of the playlists that usually pop up in there too.

Once you’ve made your pick, you can back and forth between the “now playing” section and the recently viewed videos. If you want to view the video you can check the former. The cool part about this app is that you can always minimize it and continue listening to the track, something that isn’t possible on the actual YouTube app, something that has annoyed users to no end over the years.

Can act as playlist

You can either pick any of the videos in your list of recents or, if you want to go a step further, you can just tap the “repeat all” button and just go through them all as you would with a playlist, for instance. You may also remove any of the videos from the list by swiping them to the left.

All in all, this is a great app. It’s easy to use, easy on the eyes and delivers a feature that all YouTube users have looked for at least once in the past decade.
