Wordeo 2.2

Wordeo is a new kind of video service where people sign up to either view or create short clips using themes extracted from their own words. For instance, if you say something like “dinosaurs gone wild,” the app will search its vast video database and assemble these three words for you as clips.

Vine-like concept, UI

Despite borrowing ideas from Vine and other social networks, Wordeo is an original app. In fact, it’s not even a social network per se. What you do with it is browse to see videos assembled by others, like and share these videos, add your own comments, and also create and upload your own videos.

I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not particularly taken with the interface, nor the video quality in the app. But the concept is pretty neat, and I recommend that everyone gives this one a shot.

The tool allows you to access the camera roll to upload videos and photos from your phone via the Edit screen, which makes it all easier to handle. From the same Edit screen, you’ll also be able to pull up to load more clips for each word from the video library.In the fonts area, you can tap on a word to change it if you so want to, which is a nifty feature.

Sharing content with friends has become even easier as the tool added in support for Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Whatsapp, text and email.

Words converted into video

Wordeo doesn’t literally turn words into videos, of course. The video is already there in the cloud and all the app does is match your words with clips that seem to work well with what you just said. Write a sentence and more clips will be stitched together to create one awesome video!

You can share to Wordeo, Facebook, Twitter, by text message or email, and even save videos to your camera roll.

Customization, social network

Naturally, you can add your own photos or videos, change the fonts and the music, etc. The more you use it, the more magical it becomes. You then realize that it’s a fun way to communicate with your friends, and before you know it, you’re sending out Wordeo party invitations to everyone.

Which conveniently brings me to my next point, the social aspect of Wordeo. Long story short, it’s got a follower system (much like other social networks), and you can like, share, save and comment on any video as long as you’re logged into your account.
