Great British Chefs Kids 1.1

Great British Chefs Kids wants to get your kids accustomed to cooking
Cooking can be a great experience to share with the ones you love, including kids. Although having little helpers around the kitchen can be a bit stressful at times, there are plenty of recipes out there that you can teach them, either with a low or medium complexity.

Great British Chefs Kids is an app that was developed specifically for this purpose, bringing together over a hundred easy-to-follow recipes that were conceived specifically with children in mind.

Easy to use

There are plenty of recipes that are fun to make and eye catching and kids will get a feeling of accomplishment after they’ve either done things on their own, but with your supervision, or helped you out with dinner.

The app has a simple interface that’s really easy to figure out. There are over twenty chefs that have contributed to the app. As you tap on either of them, you’ll be able to read a short biography, check out the restaurant they work for and view the recipes they’ve brought to the table, such as main dishes, desserts and snacks. If you want to access them directly, you can just tap on either of them and be taken to the page.

Alternatively, you can access the Recipes tab and pick one of the options there. For instance, you can choose the dish based on the course it’s meant for, the complexity level, or the category. You may also choose to view some handpicked recipes for inspiration or, later on, after you’ve browsed the app, your own list of favorites.

Step-by-step help

Each recipe comes with a nice summary, the list of ingredients and the method. For the method, you can put the screen in landscape mode and enjoy flipping through the cards with instruction. There’s also a handy timer you can set for whatever activity you need to perform and a way to take notes.

The ingredients in a recipe can be added to the shopping list, either one by one or as a whole. These can be viewed in the Shopping tab. There’s also an area where you can check out various tips and tricks for the kitchen. The app’s Settings allows you to choose whether you’ll be using imperial or metric measures and whether or not the app can anonymously use your data.

Overall this is a nice app and it will certainly be useful for some bonding time between you and your kids within the four walls of your kitchen.
