If you often have to deal with checking out various exchange rate conversions for currencies from all over the world, then you know how annoying it is to keep opening a webpage and typing in amounts you need, whether that’s a specialized site or just Google.

Having a dedicated app is much more useful, especially since you can just check things on the go, including when you’re on the bus, in the car or taking a scroll through the park.

Get data on the go

Global Currency is a nice app that’s extremely easy to handle. It takes its data in real time from Yahoo Finance and if you want to make sure that the currencies are up to date, you just have to tap on the “Update currency” button in the side menu. There aren’t that many around there so you don’t have to worry about digging too much for it.

The app comes with a pretty simple interface. The main screen contains four currencies that you can switch between, as well as a number pad so you can type in the numbers you need. What’s even cooler is the fact that you can even do some quick math in there so you won’t have to switch between the app and the calculator.

You may tap on any of the fields and type in the amounts you want and see how that translates into other currencies. When you switch to another, you should remember, however that the sums will reset.

Pick a currency

The app allows you to pick a global currency. While the most popular ones are more easily accessible, you’ll also notice that you can check them out alphabetically, with the country of origin coming in front. There’s even a search bar to make things easier for everyone.

In the app’s main screen you can pick the four main currencies to fit your daily needs. This can be done by simply tapping on the country’s flag and scrolling until you find the right option for you. As I said, it’s all very easy to do.

The app’s settings area allows you to quickly update the currency data, gives you a way to rate the tool and to change the language, although the options are pretty limited in this department. It’s also possible to enable keyboard sounds if you want.
