Simple test

The app enables you to create an account and go through a few sample questions before actually taking the test. These involve you granting it access to your microphone and camera. The questions you have to answer involve you listening to a sentence and then typing it down, speaking a short sentence into the microphone, selecting the real English words in a list, and filling in the missing words in a phrase.

Overall, these aren’t all that complicated and they’re the type of tests involved in most language certification processes.

Advantages and disadvantages

When you take the actual test, which takes about 20 minutes to complete, you’re going to be recorded via your phone’s camera and a human proctor will verify each individual’s identity and monitor the device’s camera and microphone to make sure no one is cheating by receiving any outside help.

The app is extremely easy to use and should be easy to figure out by anyone looking to get his or her certification in English via Duolingo’s mobile tools. While they’re only just getting started in the world of language certification tests, Duolingo could end up making a difference thanks to the rather cheap process which will certainly attract plenty of people looking to save some bucks while also advancing in their careers with the help of these documents.
