Comic books go back hundreds of years, even though they’ve been largely popularized in the past decades. Of course, in recent years, with Marvel and DC Comics filming movies after movies based on comic books, their popularity has increased tenfold. Comic books are fun to read, not only due to the fun drawings you see in their pages, but also thanks to the thought-out plots.

ComicBook! is a photo app that will help you create your own images inspired from the famous drawings. The app itself is quite easy to handle, thanks to the intuitive interface. It doesn’t mean, however, that we’re dealing with a simplistic app. Quite the contrary since there are so many things you can do.

Start with the layout

To start things off, you’ll get to pick a layout for your photo collage. There are several categories that you can pick from, each containing multiple versions. They’re piled together based on the number of panels they have, the page orientation and so on.

Once you’ve made up your mind, you’ll have to pick the photos to add to the mix. These can come from Facebook, Flickr, the Camera Roll or you can take a new one on the spot. Each picture can be subjected to a different kind of special effect. These are accessible via the “FX” button on each image, with the list including “noir” and “sink city” (sic).

Speech bubbles can be added to the mix too, if you want to give the comic an air of veridicity. The text can be changed or filled in, depending on the type you choose, and they can be moved to the designated location quite easily. If the speech bubble has a tail, that one can be adjusted too.

Play with stickers

Groups of stickers are also available. On top of various phrases, there are also funny additions you can make, such as masks, moustaches, hearts and explosions.

It’s possible to add more pages to the mix, create books and export photos to the Camera Roll. They can also be sent to other people via email, Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
 
All in all, this is a pretty entertaining app. Comic book lovers will certainly find it fun to handle, especially given the ease with which you can create your very own witty stories.
