Wave Launcher v2.2.1
It's an add-on launcher for your Android phone that loads up to 120 of your predefined apps, shortcuts and widgets with the swipe of a finger, anytime, regardless of which app is currently running.
Sleek UI that could use some improvements
It's always nice to see applications that launch with a tutorial or some set of instructions. Wave Launcher has that but instead of having a presentation of its features, it simply features some text and a video that you can watch on YouTube. However, it looks unfinished and really unprofessional.
You'll need to scroll down to read instructions for each and every section of the app. But we're not sure how many users would actually take the time to read the tips or watch the video for more instructions. It's quite unsure how the app works, since it's only UI or menu is that with instructions.
Open apps instantly
After you've read the instructions, open the notification bar and tap on the Wave Launcher icon to activate the app. That will open the app's home page with the option to access settings and edit the interface to your liking. You can add up to 6 applications on the wave launcher, simply pick the apps from the list provided inside the app.
Users can add widgets, shortcuts and many more tools. You have the option to move icons right or left, change them or remove them from the wave. The shape of the wave can also be changed, simply use your fingers to pick from the three available options.
Edit the app to your liking
Users have the option to change the color of the wave or the label. There's also the option to change the size of the wave, position, thickness and swipe distance. The app comes in multiple languages, it can be set to launch at startup, make the icon invisible or trigger certain actions upon long press.
The number of apps can be changed, you can pick up to 12 apps or shortcuts on the wave launcher. You also have the option to change the wave animation and make the app more appealing.
The app can be started from any screen, simply by long pressing on the slider and dragging it up to reveal the wave launcher. In addition, the app works in the lock screen so you can instantly access applications without unlocking your phone.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The app has a really nice interface but the tutorial should be more comprehensive and have a layout that's easier to understand. |
Function8
It works just fine, although it may be somewhat confusing for new users but that's why it comes with tips. |
Security9
It only needs access to areas of your phone that are connected to its features so you don't need to worry about privacy issues when using this app. |
Battery7
The app only uses some resources from your phone so it shouldn't drain your battery. |
Price10
It doesn't come with any ads or in-app purchases, the app is completely free of charge. |
Compatibility6
It should work on devices running Android version 4.2 or later, making the app unavailable to some users. |
It's a good idea and it has surprisingly many tools and features.
