Travel languages for everybody 1.0
Fortunately, Google Play Store has some nice applications that could help during your vacation in a foreign country. One of such applications is Travel languages for everybody, but don't expect much from it as it needs some more work.
Intuitive but dated UI with few features
Travel languages for everybody doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to get you started. It also lacks a settings menu which is quite inconvenient, because it means that users can't make any changes to the app's UI and functions.
Other than that, it doesn't use material design and the app seems quite simplistic and unfinished. The first thing that you'll need to do after you launch the app is to pick the native language. You can choose from a long list of almost 24 languages spoken all over the world and the app is also available offline.
A helpful tool when vacationing
After you've picked the native language, you'll have to select the country that you're visiting. The app displays the national flag next to the country's official name and spoken language.
It comes with 24 different languages and more than 50 countries. From what we can tell, translations are quite accurate and the app could prove a really useful tool. Tap on one country to open the menu with options.
It has lots of categories with translated common phrases which you can read in order to communicate with locals. Some of the categories are numbers, dates, telling time, greetings, small talk, airport, train, bus, taxi, hotel, restaurant and hospital.
Some flaws
The phrases are quite useful for any kind of situation that you might encounter while abroad. It displays the phrase in your native language on top and the translation on the bottom. There's also the option of audio, but it doesn't work all the time.
Some voices are computer generated, which can be quite annoying. Moreover, it seems that the app has quite a few bugs. If you wish to change the language, the app won't be able to open the menu with sections or phrases. This happens the first few times when you use the app.
Travel languages for everybody is a nice app to have while on vacation, but it has some flaws and it takes a while to get to sections. In addition, it would have been nice if it had the option to favorite certain phrases so that users could access them easier.
