Smigin: Language for travel 1.7.19
It's filled with applications that help users get along with locals and communicate faster, without using a dictionary. One of those apps is Smigin Language for travel. It lets you build phrases to express yourself in a foreign country. It's easy-to-use once you follow the tutorial.
Sleek and fluent interface with lots of features at hand
The app launches with a presentation of its features, showing users all the neat things that they can do inside the app. A set of instructions follows, it shows users how to create phrases and then read them out loud.
Instead of coming with already built phrases and taking up lots of space on your phone, this app lets you create phrases by picking words from lists. It doesn't come with material design, but it does have a side menu with quick access to its features and sections. The interface is quite fluent making it easy for users to navigate from one section to another.
Create phrases and listen to their pronunciation
The first thing that you need to do inside the app is to pick the language that you would like to translate phrases into. You can choose from a total of 12 languages, including Turkish, Mandarin, German or Filipino.
Then simply tap on the phrasebuilder to start. You can select words on singlar or plural from the toolbar at the top of the screen. The list of words appears on the home screen, pick one to open another list from where you'll pick another or close the sentence.
In-app purchases
Once you've created the sentence you can read it, use TTS or have the app display its phonetic form to make it easier to read. Sentences that you'll use in other occasions can be favorited, so you can have quick access to them from the side menu.
All words are arranged into categories like hotel, bar, restaurant, transport, etc. Only the cafe section is free, the rest you'll have to purchase in order to gain access. Users must pay 2.49$ for access to all sections belonging to a certain language. All in all, the idea behind this app is really nice but it needs more languages and features to make it stand out from similar apps in the store.
