Shaker 2.0.0
One of these neat applications is Shaker. It lets users to shake their phones a certain number of times in order to launch applications. It uses your phone's sensors in order to determine which app you would like to open. However, it could use some more work and features.
Intuitive layout with lots of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient new users find tips quite beneficial especially when launching a new application. The interface is quite simplistic, it only has a list of settings that you need to scroll down through and adjust.
It doesn't use material design or a side menu with quick access to its sections. The app doesn't require online registration which is quite nice, since it means that the setup wouldn't last that long.
Shake to open apps
The app needs to be enabled from the settings menu, before you can make some changes to the UI. You can also enable the feature that makes your phone vibrate when a shake was detected. The app lets you pick from a whole range of gestures that you can adjust.
The simple shake gesture can be assigned to the camera, dialer, app settings or whichever application you would like. However, if you want the app to open the dialer, you will have to enable the app as a device administrator in order to grant it access to sensitive information on your phone.
More features
It comes with multiple gestures that you can choose from, like shake twice, upside down, lay on table, cover proximity sensor one or twice. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the option to adjust the sensitivity of sensors.
So even though you might be placing your phone on the table, the app might detect it as if you were shaking your phone once. It could use some more work, so that it wouldn't detect other gestures.
It works in the lock screen, which is quite inconvenient because it might mean that when you launch your phone, lots of applications would also open. It's even more inconvenient if you accidentally press on the power button and the phone moves in your bag.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The interface is nice, it's quite fluent and clean with lots of features at hand and the option to make all sort of adjustments. |
Function8
It needs some more work, it would have been nice if the app had an icon that let users adjust sensitivity settings for the sensor. |
Security9
The app doesn't need that many permissions from your phone, but you will have to enable it as a device administrator in order to open the dialer. |
Battery8
It doesn't take up that many resources from your phone, which means that the app won't drain your battery. |
Price10
It doesn't come with any ads or in-app purchases which is quite nice. |
Compatibility7
It should work on devices running Android version 4.1 or later, making the app inaccessible to some users. |
It's a really nice and useful app that could use some more work.
