Fortunately, Google Play Store is filled with all sort of antivirus applications that you can check out. Security Antivirus For Android is one of the most simplistic antivirus apps in the store, it could most certainly use more features and tools.
Simplistic UI with little to offer
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, although it would have been nice if it provided new users with an overview of its features and tools. It doesn't have material design or a side menu with quick access to its sections.
Online registration isn't required when using this app, so you don't need to worry about completing a complicated setup before you can start performing scans on your phone. An overview icon on the top right corner of the screen will provide access to the settings menu and some other sections that you can check out.
Protect your device from malware
The first thing that you need to do when launching the app is to perform a scan. The antivirus scans all applications on your device and looks into files that you might have saved.
It doesn't take long to perform scans and it displays progress in a nice way, using animation. The main screen shows you when the last scan was performed and the signature of the virus database.
Results are displayed in a separate screen and you can fix threats using tools provided inside the app. You have the option of scanning your SD card to find malware and of checking for vulnerabilities on your phone.
Some flaws
The app doesn't come with a settings menu, which means that you can't make any changes to its UI and functions. It's the most simplistic antivirus app that we've ever seen.
It doesn't have a cache cleaner or an app manager. Mobile antivirus apps have evolved and they provide users with all sort of interesting tools that they can check out, but this one doesn't. Moreover, it doesn't have a tool for locating your phone in case of theft or loss.
It could use at least some options or features for scheduling scans at a certain interval of time. It also doesn't display a bar in the notification screen but it does scan new apps that you install on your device.
