Ringdroid

Create nice ringtones using audio tracks saved on your phone
One of the best ways in which people can customize their phones is by changing the wallpaper or creating a new ringtone. There are many applications that could help cut songs into sections and create your very own personal ringtone to assign to certain contacts.

One of the more simplistic apps is Ringdroid. It's a nice application but it lacks unique features that would make it stand out from other similar apps on the market.

Sleek and intuitive interface that could use a nicer design

The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient especially for new users. Although the UI is really intuitive, it would have been nice if it had a presentation showing new users all the neat things that they could do inside the app.

It's also missing a settings menu which means that you can't really make any changes to the app's UI and features. It only has an about section with a few tips and it's missing material design for the interface, which takes away the familiarity that some apps have.

Create nice ringtones

It automatically scans your device to retrieve all audio files that you have saved on it. It displays all of your audio tracks, notifications, alarm sounds and more.

All the different sounds on your device are highlighted in various colors, device sounds like camera click or audio end have a dark background while ringtones come in a blue one. You can use the app to edit mp3, ogg, wav, aac and amr files.

Audio tracks found in your music folder also have a dark background while alarms come in red. You can add sounds as default ringtones on your device or assign them to a certain contact.

Tools for editing audio files

It lets you crop files to various sizes, simply by picking the start and end points or tapping the screen to assign them faster. It displays the frequency and the total duration of the track. It also lets users check out a preview of ringtones that they've created.

When you're done editing, simply save the file on your device and use it as your default ringtone. You can also create audio tracks, notification and alarm sounds.

Ringdroid is useful for recording audio files, but other than that it doesn't come with too many options. It would have been nice if the app had a store with all sort of ringtones that you could download or some effects that you can add to your own audio files.
