Maple Player Classic 2.5.6
But Maple Player Classic is a promising player, packed with some unique tools and a nice interface. It has all the essential features to listening to music and some extra ones.
Nice interface with lots of features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient considering that users like to have some tips when launching new apps. Still, the UI is quite simplistic with all features at hand.
However, it can get confusing since it doesn't have a side menu and it doesn't use material design. Users might get lost inside the app as it lacks an icon for accessing the home screen with tools. You can browse through all sections on your home in order to find folders and to access the library with music files.
It needs some setup
The app doesn't automatically scan your device to find audio tracks, so you'll need to navigate through directories on your device. The player mode automatically opens album art if available and provides users with all sort of tools at hand.
You can adjust volume and open playlists saved on your device. Unfortunately, it doesn't have a feature for creating playlists which is quite inconvenient. At a first glance it seems like a really nice player, but once you use it for a few minutes you realize that it's quite counter-intuitive and it needs more tools.
Some tools
It comes with a 5-band equalizer and some presets that you can apply in the player. There's the option to adjust the speed, pitch and repeat songs. You can also bookmark your favorite audio files, check out the history of songs or adjust the playback position.
It also comes with a visualizer and a sleep timer. It comes with some settings settings that you can adjust on your phone. You can hide items from the menu, adjust the default screen orientation, resume player mode after phone call or restrict music library to a certain root folder.
There's also the option to enable scrobbling, fast forward or rewind by a certain number of seconds or adjust settings for when you plug in a headset. There's also the option to adjust buffer size or wake lock.
