Qwik Beta 1.0.0
It's a new app that's only in beta stage, but it's on the right track towards becoming an indispensable application on any Android device. It's quite useful but it does need some more tools to make it more appealing to users.
Sleek and simplistic design with only a few features at hand
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or a presentation, it simply launches with some instructions to explain to users how the app works. It could really use some more detailed tips but you'll get the hang of it fast, since it's quite intuitive and with a simplistic design.
The whole concept behind this app is quite innovative. You'll have a shortcut on the home screen which would give you access to the dialer and the messaging app. Simply tap on it to make a call or reply to a message. It has a menu with some settings and tools for making it easier to use the app.
Use the app for placing calls faster
When you first launch the app it opens with some instructions, one set for physical buttons and one for onscreen buttons. In order to activate Qwik on your device, you'll need to hold down the home button.
This will activate a selector on the first try, from there select Qwik as default and you should be good to go. The app opens with a search bar, letting users type in key words for finding items faster. You can also perform a quick call, all you need to do is write down the recipient's number or search for it in your contact list.
More options
The same goes with writing texts, the app opens two windows in which you can reply to a message and write down the recipient's number. The best thing about this app is that it opens on top of other applications and web pages, so you don't need to stop whatever you were doing in order to use the app.
It also comes with a settings menu, Android 5.0.1 users have the option to enable advanced rendering. In addition, the app doesn't need root which is quite nice, you can enable a feature that forces power menu displaying on non-rooted devices.
If your phone is rooted, the feature won't be detected. All in all, it's a nice app but it requires some more features. Still, considering that it's only in its beta stage it's well on the right track to becoming a really useful app on any Android device.
