Fing - Network Tools 2.15
It's filled with all sort of features that you might use to test your internet network and see how many devices are connected to it. However, it does have some flaws so you'll need to take some time to understand this app.
Easy-to-use but boring interface
Some of the best applications that we've come across launch with a tutorial showing new users how to access all sort of features inside the app. Fing app could have surely used some instructions, explaining users how the app works and how to detect which devices are connected to your network.
It doesn't have material design which is quite inconvenient and the UI has absolutely no style. It only has a dark background and some settings under the menu. From the moment you launch the app, it starts to scan the network and determine how many devices are connected to it.
Analyze your network
The app doesn't take long to scan your network and it displays a list with devices that are connected. It will show you your IP address, speed, DNS and BSSID values.
It has separate icons for each device connected to the network, meaning that it will display different icons for mobile phones, tablets, printers and connected TVs. It will also show you the name of the manufacturer so you could distinguish between devices connected to the same network.
However, it seems that the app doesn't properly work on all types of phones, so it may display the correct number of connected devices but it will fail to show the manufacturer or the type of device.
More options
Users can enter their own names, icons, notes and location. There's also the option to search by IP, MAC, name, vendor and notes. Information inside the app can be shared via Twitter, Facebook, Messenger or email.
The app also has a feature that helps you find hundreds of open ports in a few seconds, switch on your devices from your phone, analyze network performances and perform automatic DNS lookup and reverse lookup. All in all, it's a great app for analyzing your network performance but it does need some improvements, especially a tutorial.

The interface is quite boring, with a dark background and some settings under the menu. It could use an upgrade. |
Function8
It works but users would need to take some time to understand how the app works and how they can use it properly. |
Security9
It only needs access to a few areas of your phone so it shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery7
Consumption is moderate so you shouldn't worry about this app draining your resources. |
Price9
It doesn't have any ads but you'll need to pay if you wish to sync your information using Fingbox. |
Compatibility9
It should work on a wide range of devices, since it uses Android version 2.1 or later. |
It needs a bit more work but it's one of the best network analysis apps that we've seen.
