Listen to all sort of songs with this nifty music player

Considering that smartphones are becoming increasingly advanced, they've managed to replace some of the electronic devices we've used over the years. We no longer have to buy portable music players, cameras or even GPS devices, because we can have them on our phones. The only question is which app to choose for them. DoubleTwist Player is a neat app that offers synchronization across devices and plenty of features for streaming music.

Intuitive but dark interface

Since Play Store is filled with all sorts of music apps, it's quite difficult to create an app that stands out, as it would have to be equipped with an intuitive but also highly customizable UI, as well as a whole array of features. But DoubleTwist player doesn't have that. There are no additional features to choose from or any other customization options. The app doesn't come with instructions or tips, leaving users to find their own way inside it.

Manage your media files

The side menu offers quick access to songs and albums. All files are arranged by genres, artists or playlists. You can have the app display files in a list or a grid and tap on one to play. All the usual controls are there and you can even enable lock screen controls if you'd like.

Share files or get artwork for those that don't have any, but this feature is only available in the premium version of the app. Other than that you can lock the screen to portrait view or type in a device name. The app syncs to Last.fm if you'd like to fetch music from there and you can even enable headset/car controls to listen while driving. The app also plays videos.

Listen to the radio and podcasts

Choose radio from the side menu in order to check out various stations, divided by genre . The stations are arranged into lists and the app displays the name of the song currently playing.

You can even share songs from the radio with your friends on social networks. Other than that, the app plays podcasts but it takes a while to load them. Subscribe to various channels and download content on your phone, so you can listen to it wherever you are.
