Antivirus for Android 2.2.9
Fortunately, Google Play Store is filled with all sort of applications that you can use in order to protect your phone and avoid viruses. Antivirus for Android is a nice app, although it's not that popular compared to other apps. Still, it provides basic antivirus tools, but it would have been nicer if users wouldn't have to pay for them.
Simplistic but easy-to-use interface with some features at hand
The app doesn't launch with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, which is quite inconvenient since new users would have found some tips useful. Still, the home screen will provide access to all sort of sections and the option to launch scans with the tap of one finger.
It's missing a side menu with features but it does come with some sort of settings that you can do to the UI. The layout of the app is different compared to that of other antivirus applications and this one doesn't use that much animation and it should have a more unique name.
Protect your device
The first thing that you'll need to do after launching this app is to run a full device scan. However, the app doesn't display a progress bar or let you adjust the speed of scans. In fact, even if your phone is on silent it won't display results on the home screen but rather use your speaker.
Even if you have lots of files on your phone, it seems that the app takes mere seconds to scan it. This might raise suspicion as to how efficient this application really is.
Some more tools
The app has a section with analytics, it's filled with information on number of scans on your device, apps and files scanned, websites monitored and threats caught. It also displays a statistic on global threats caught the day before, but numbers seem to be a bit high.
You can adjust some general settings, like enable deep scan of apps and real time protection against threats. It also lets you adjust notifications and change the frequency of auto scans. The app isn't completely free of charge, if you wish to remove ads and get immediate database updates, you'll need to subscribe for up to 8.19$ per year.
