Simplistic but stylish UI
Launcher apps normally come with plenty of instructions and tips, but Zero Launcher doesn't have a tutorial although it could use one. The app comes with the option of changing the theme, users get one key per day for unlocking any theme in the store.
But themes are only available as long as Zero launcher is set as default. Still, there are plenty of wallpapers to choose from and they're completely free. All settings are neatly hidden under the 'hamburger' icon on the bottom of the screen. Even the app's built in locked comes with plenty of themes to pick from. Additionally, there are themes for fonts. The app also lets you hide folders and protect them with a password.
Change icons and screen transition effects
In order to change the shape of icons, you need to simply tap on one icon and changes are made, but have patience as the app takes its time with doing so.
The launcher has 3 screen transition effects that you can choose from, including crystal effects, cloth or classic. The launcher lets you create folders with applications or swipe down to search for apps installed on your phone.
Other than that you can adjust the grid size and add or remove home screen. On the top of the main screen, the launcher displays quick shortcuts to the main functions of your phone, including internet connection, brightness, alarm clock etc.
The app uses some gestures, you can swipe down to call application search function. In addition, it comes with a weather plugin that lets you select cities and switch between Celsius and Fahrenheit easily.
Performance booster and flashlight
The launcher comes with a few additional features including a memory booster that would close apps running in the background and help improve your phone's performance. There's also flashlight app that you can use. The launcher comes with a bar in the notifications section and there's no option of removing it.
It arranged all of your apps, placing the most popular ones on the main screen and all other on the rest. You'll find your apps arranged alphabetically in the others folder.
Also, you can hide apps that you don't want to be featured on the home screen. In addition, the app seems to create double icons for applications that you've recently installed.
