Considering the number of apps available out there, for basically anything you want to do, it's still difficult to find a good app for your basic needs. But we've come across TuneIn Radio. A nice radio app, with sleek design and an extraordinary selection of stations from everywhere in the world. And even if you don't usually listen to radio, this app surely has something that you'd like.

Intuitive and sleek GUI

The first thing that strikes you about this app is its neat design and suggestions of songs and stations that you might like. Just scroll through suggestions, tap on a song or station to listen or favorite them for later. That's just the homescreen, under browse you can start searching for stations.

There's a section with local stations, the ones you've listened to recently, trending and music ones. You can also search stations by genre or location, as they're filtered by continent and country. In addition, you can find radios in your language or check out the top podcasts.

Details on stations and their followers

Each station featured in this radio app comes with a list of programs it airs, the number of broadcasts and followers. You have the option to follow the station, after you've read a short description of the music or programs. In addition, controls for pause or stop are featured on the bottom of the screen making it easy to browse and listen at the same time. You can also tap on an icon and hear to the previous 10 seconds of the broadcasting, in case you missed some important piece of information.

Car mode and account preferences

Signing up is really easy, you can use one of your other social networking accounts, even while you're still listening to music, the broadcasting doesn't stop which is quite neat. And because people usually listen to radio while they're driving, the app comes with a car mode, packed with your favorite stations, an icon for voice search, recent stations and recommended ones.

Under settings, you can set the app to restart the last played stream when it starts up, buffer 5 seconds before playing, enable auto lockscreen or record the tracks you've been listening to. The latter is available only if you upgrade to the premium version. In addition, the app comes with widgets for your homescreen.
