Start 4.4.3
Start is one of them, a lock screen app that comes with many themes, backgrounds and options to make your phone stand out even in the lock screen.
Beautiful design with plenty of features at hand
The app launches with a very comprehensive tutorial, showing users how to access all features inside the application and how to make the most of it. Start doesn't need online registration and it comes with many customization options that you can do to enhance your phone and make it stand out even in the lock screen.
You can choose from several available themes. Many of them are free and all come with stylish and high quality images, but the layout of the app stays the same. The app also lets you add your own picture as background on your screen and it lets you shift through themes to apply the one you like the most without opening the store again.
Customize the app to your liking
Start lets you access system settings and some of your favorite apps even before unlocking the phone. It provides you with a side bar filled with all sorts of icons, access them by simply sliding the icon on the screen.
You can open quick settings to turn on WiFi, mute your phone, use the flashlight or switch Bluetooth on. It also comes with a search bar for finding interesting content on the internet. Aside from that you can access your Facebook account or check the weather.
Unfortunately, the app has a security issue. Even if you've locked with a password or pattern, there's no security measure to block unwanted users from posting on your Facebook wall or reading your messages, so you should be careful with that.
Configure plugins
That being said, it's probably best if you don't link your social networking accounts with this app, as it does provide users with the option of installing plugins for Gmail, Twitter, Flickr and YouTube.
Still, you can get access to your personal gallery, but filled only with images that you pick from the gallery so it won't display all of them in the lockscreen. The app lets you access the camera, notifications, messaging and email apps easily, by simply sliding an icon on the screen.
