Solo Launcher 1.9.9.7
Neat UI with plenty of settings
The interface is truly filled with plenty of adjustments to be made to the launcher. You can change the transition effect when scrolling between screens or enable fade effects for the same action. The same effect can also be changed for when you close an app.
In addition, you can allow the wallpaper to move while scrolling, but that's a basic option. Apps can be arranged into as many columns and rows as you'd like, while the text color can also be changed. In addition to that you can change the background color of the icon text. There are also many changes that can be made to icons and folders, including setting the launcher to display a preview.
Themes and wallpapers
There's the option of changing the color theme or size of icons and even enabling animation for when returning to the home screen or changing the gestures you use while working on your phone. Also you can make changes to the notifications you receive in case you have unread calls or messages, or just to general notifications that are displayed in the toolbar.
After you make all the changes to the Solo Launcher, you can choose to back them up to your SD card. The app comes with only one theme but the option to download more for free. The same goes with wallpapers. When it comes to lock screens, the app works best with DIY Locker. All of the changes are available at the touch of a button. There are also previews of screen effects and themes.
Some shortcomings
The main screen displays all the most used apps, together with a widget with the time, date and weather in your location, but for detailed information you would have to download the widget. Actually, many tools must be downloaded separately and while the app doesn't display ads, it does however have plenty of sections recommending other applications by the developer.
In addition, an annoying message to rate the app is displayed shortly after you download it. You can't close it or postpone it for later, so you must rate the app minutes after you've started using it. Still, the launcher has a separate section with suggestions of apps to download, including new games and paid applications.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
The design is really sleek and some themes are truly lovely, the app comes with plenty of settings to best fit your needs and preferences. |
Function7
It does come with themes and wallpapers, but they need to be downloaded separately. In addition, the app doesn't arrange your other applications or do nothing to help free your screen. |
Security7
It will surely peak into all the areas of your phone, from accounts, to messages and calls, everything. |
Battery7
Launchers aren't really battery drainers, however some themes come with animation which might impact your power resources. |
Price8
Free of charge but the app has plenty of ads for other applications and nagging messages to rate it. |
Compatibility8
The app should work just fine on devices running on Android version 4.0 or later. |
Plenty of settings to meet your preferences, but nothing to make it stand out.
