SMS Lock can help you do just that, the app is filled with all sorts of features and tools you can use to lock text messages received in several other applications on your phone.
Sleek interface with plenty of features to choose from
The UI of this app is quite simplistic, it comes with only a few sections to choose from and some settings. The app doesn't have any instructions or tips which would have helped new users get accustomed to its interface and access its features faster.
Still, it does provide a rather comprehensive GUI, with all tools at hand but it only comes in English. A list of suggested apps is featured under the icon on the top left corner of the screen. They're recommendations of applications that would help increase your privacy and protect personal information stored on your phone.
Lock your text messages
The app automatically detects the application you use on your phone for sending text messages and offers to lock it. If you use multiple apps, it actually detects them and lets you lock information with the tap of one button.
But before you'd be able to do that, you must draw a lock pattern and confirm it. Enable the app to lock information by tapping on the center of the home screen. A notification is displayed on the status bar at all times, so you can access the app from there and disable the lock if you wish.
Tweak settings to make the app your own
Users can always change the lock pattern on their phone and disable the visible pattern when introducing the lock. You can also disable the notification in the status bar or enable self protection.
If you think that someone might uninstall the app from your device, enable the system setting that would help you prevent that. You can also prevent the app from being uninstalled from the Android Market or don't allow any other apps to be uninstalled from your device.
