There are many applications that could help you with that, one of them is Photo Mix +. It has a really nice interface and lots of features to check out. However, it's a bit limited compared to the other photo editors that come with a collage section.
Sleek interface with really nice visuals
The app doesn't have a tutorial or any kind of instructions to get you started, but that shouldn't represent an issue since the interface is quite intuitive and has lots of features at hand. The home menu gives you access to all the features inside the app as they're neatly arranged as thumbnails on the screen.
It doesn't use material design but it does have a settings section. Sadly, the only change that you can do to the app is to select the size of the collage.
Create collages easily using this app
The first thing that you need to do in order to create a collage is to pick the number of pictures that you might want to add. However, the total number of photos is just 6, which makes the app quite limited compared to other applications available on Google Play Store.
The next step is to pick the frame layout for your collages and then to add pictures. You can load images from your gallery or simply snap them instantly using the camera. However, you might need to crop pictures before being able to add them in a collage.
Apply filters and change the background
The neat thing about this app is that it lets you apply all sort of filters to your pictures, simply scroll through the long list of effects available. Afterward, you can use the app to change the background of your collages. Backgrounds come in multiple colors and textures, but the thumbnails should be bigger as users can't really distinguish between the ones available.
It's also a bit difficult to tap on them. You can rename the file before saving it and all collages that were created are stored in a separate section inside the app. When you're done, you can share the collage with your friends on social networks. Photo Mix+ comes with some annoying popup ads, which you can remove for 0.89$.
