Phonto 1.7.2
One of such application is Phonto, which lets you add text to your pictures and comes with some tools for editing text but not for images.
Simplistic interface with only a few features
The app doesn't come with any instructions or a tutorial to show users how to access all features and tools inside. Subsequently, it doesn't need online registration which it quite nice, but it lets you share images on social networks, especially on Facebook as it comes with a shortcut for that.
The home screen is quite unimpressive, only a boring wallpaper and some settings under the overflow icon on the top right corner of the screen. Tap anywhere to load a new image from your device or use plain pictures to do so, but the app doesn't connect to the camera so you may edit pictures that you've just taken.
Adjust settings to make the app your own
There are some settings that you can do to the app, you can change the image size but note that too large images can cause the app to crash. Still, developers didn't mention the dimensions of too large or small images. You can also change the output format and switch between png and jpeg.
Still, mind that the app is filled with quite annoying banner and popup ads which fortunately, you can remove them if you pay 0.99$ for the ad-free option. Users have the option of adding text to plain images and picking from the many backgrounds available inside the app.
Add text to your pictures
The app lets you access your gallery and pick images, simply write the text on them and decide if you wish to align them to the center, left or right of the screen. You can also pick from the many fonts available inside the app, adjust the size of the text and the color.
The app also lets you tilt text or move it around the screen. There's also the option of rotating pictures or previewing them. Save the image when you're ready and share it online. The app has a shortcut for posting the image on Facebook.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is quite simplistic and it could really use some shortcuts on the home screen to sections inside the app. |
Function8
It works just fine but it could use some more features and tools for editing pictures and adding text on them. |
Security8
It only needs a few permissions from your phone which means that it shouldn't pose any privacy issues. |
Battery8
Consumption is normal, the app won't drain your battery unless you use it extensively. |
Price8
It's filled with banner and popup ads, you can remove them if you upgrade to the premium version for 0.99$. |
Compatibility8
It needs devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
It's a nice app but it could use some more features to make it more appealing to users.
