Mixology Drink Recipes 2.0.4
Intuitive but dated UI
The interface is well organized, but it seems a bit dated. It comes with a black background and grey edges, the only colorful thing in the whole app are the pictures of drinks. The app doesn’t come with any instructions of use, but it has a guide with bartending tips and tricks. The interface may be non-responsive at times, so be patient with this app.
Learn how to mix various drinks
Once you’ve gotten used to the dated UI, you can start mixing drinks. Each one opens with a list of ingredients and instructions on making it. There’s a large picture of the drink and the app mentions what type of glass you should use to serve it. In addition, you can search for drinks by ingredients, category or name, but the section has some stability issues. All the drinks you’ve saved are arranged in the favorites folder. The app also comes with a liquor cabinet, tap on multiple liquors and mixes and the app will provide you with suggestions of drinks.
Bartending tips and tricks
You’ll find there information on all types of glasses, tools that you must use, the terminology used by people working in the trade, as well as tips on how to stock your bar and other tricks. It teaches you how to shake a drink, stir, how to infuse spirits or layer drinks to create drinks that not only look amazing in a glass but also taste great.

Bottom Line
Design / UI7
The interface is dated, doesn’t come with instructions and is non-responsive at times. |
Function8
The app performs well, but it needs some improvements. Still it comes with a comprehensive bartending guide, a liquor cabinet and the option to save drinks. |
Security7
It needs lots of permissions from your device and some of them aren’t connected to its features, like location services and access to your media files. |
Battery8
Consumption of power is normal, the app doesn’t make your phone to overheat so you don’t have to worry about that. |
Price8
It comes with banner ads and the only way of removing them is to upgrade to the paid version for 1.38$. |
Compatibility7
The app should work just fine on phones and tablets running Android version 3.0 or later. |
A great app for learning how to become a bartender and how to mix drinks, but it needs an upgrade and a bit more work.
