Use OSM or purchase detailed navigator maps
The app launches with a quick start setup, where you need to choose the application language and unit system, either metric, imperial or American. You can have the app check for new maps updates automatically.
But the app also comes with the option of buying detailed navigation maps for countries all over the world or maps with logistic information about road restrictions or traffic. The latter is only available for the States and Europe.
Create and save routes
MapFactor makes it easy to create and save routes. You can enter the address, but be patient because the app needs you to type in the country, city and street. It features a history below and you also have the option of searching for an address on Google.
Other than that, users may find the POI useful considering that it lets you import routes or search by address and name. In addition, you can use coordinates to find a destination. Set itineraries and adjust routing mode, by choosing between the fastest, shortest or cheapest route available. You can also have the app display restrictions and roads with tolls.
Navigate using the map
The map is highly customizable, you can change the color, set it to day/night mode, change the scale of texts, roads or icons. But the menu seems a bit dated, with gray icons that leaves the user thinking that some sections are locked. The map seems clogged with tons of icons for gas stations, main attractions and even stores, which makes it difficult to reach a destination.
Still it has come perks, it displays the approximate time in which you'll reach your destination and the distance in km or miles. Voice navigation makes it easier to drive without constantly checking your phone. In addition to all its features, the app also has an odometer for calculating the distance you've traveled by car. You can choose from two modes, business and private.
