Launcher Lab 2.6
But Launcher Lab actually lets you create screens from scratch by giving you instructions and features in an editor, so you can design the interface as you'd like. This is one of the app's strong points as not many launchers let you do that.
Sleek interface with animation
It's always nice to see launchers with many features and animation, as people decide to change the launcher on their phone precisely because they've gotten bored with the stock one.
Launcher Lab sports a really nice design with many features but no tutorial. However, there are many onscreen instructions to show you how to access all tools and navigate inside the app.
The launcher doesn't import folders from your stock launcher which is a good thing for people that had screens clogged with icons of applications. But it can also be a bad thing, especially for those who've organized their apps in a specific way.
Tweak settings to meet your preferences
Every screen in this launcher is different and has some unique widgets, including clock, weather conditions and shortcuts to some of your most used apps. The design is completely unique and unusual but in a good way and the launcher comes with some settings that you can do to the interface.
You can change the wallpaper or adjust the grid for normal screens, but there are no other changes that you can make. The app drawer opens if you tap on a blank space on any screen, but it doesn't come with any sorting options, nor does it arrange icons into folders.
This means that the app is quite limited when it comes to settings and we're not quite sure if the screen editor can compensate for the lack of some essential features. The app also lets you hide apps that you don't wish to appear in the app drawer or on the home screen.
Create your own screen
Still, if you decided to install the launcher then you should definitely try out the screen editor. It basically lets you design your own screen from scratch, meaning you can change the wallpaper and icon color, add layers to the image or various objects.
You can add widgets for the clock, weather including temperature, location, wind speed and humidity. You can also pick shapes for widgets, add images or text. Other than that, you have the option to pick a battery icon or add the date on the screen. Shortcuts to certain apps can also be added and you can make changes to their icons, but can't redesign them completely.

Bottom Line
Design / UI9
While the app doesn't come with additional themes, every one of its screens is different and it lets you create your own. |
Function6
It's missing some essential features like screen transition effects and options for the app drawer. |
Security8
The number of permissions it needs from your phone is quite high, but that's normal for any launcher. |
Battery7
Consumption isn't high but it's noticeable so you might want to keep an eye on resources when using this app. |
Price10
It's completely free of charge, no ads or in-app purchases. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 4.0 or later, making it inaccessible to some users. |
It's a nice app but the screen editor can't compensate the lack of essential features.
