Lapse It 4.70
Intuitive interface that lacks instructions
Lapse It is not one of those apps that absolutely needs a tutorial, but some instructions would have been nice. The app opens directly with the main menu that features all sections and tools for creating time lapse videos.
There's also a section with the latest updates and the app is available both in portrait and landscape view. Some settings can be adjusted to the app, but there's no option of changing the theme or commands for gestures. Lapse It requires online registration with an email address. Users get access to videos that other people posted on the network.
Tweak settings to your preferences
It's quite easy to create time lapse videos, but before you do that you can adjust the frame interval for videos, the time scale and resolution. However, the maximum resolution you can use in the free version is 480p, you'll have to upgrade for 2.18$ to get 1080p and many more features.
There's also the option of adjusting screen brightness or enabling compatibility mode, to make your video screen on various Android devices without any problems. Users can also select from three encoders H264, MP4 or MOV, to make sure rendered videos play on multiple devices and versions of OS. The rate of frames per second can also be adjusted, together with the video quality.
Record and create time-lapse videos
Some features are available in the camera mode. You can get instant access to features and settings even before you start filming, or adjust video quality and frames per second. Tap on capture and you're good to go. The app displays the number of frames taken, together with the length of the video. Trim videos to make them shorter or to remove frames that you don't like.
Multiple effects can also be added, you can turn your video into a black and white film or invert colors. Music can be added but only in the pro versions and you can change the frame rate before you render the video. Still, depending on the format not all videos play inside the app and you might need to use an external player.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is really intuitive, but it could use some instructions and an upgrade as the grey theme is a bit dull. |
Function8
It's quite great for filming and has just enough features to let you create great time lapse videos. |
Security8
It doesn't need many permissions from your phone so you can use the app without worrying about privacy issues. |
Battery8
Consumption is really low so you don't have to worry about the app taking over all of your resources. |
Price8
While the app doesn't come with ads, some features including the one for adding music are locked, only available if you upgrade for 2.18$. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.2 or later, making it accessible to many users. |
A nice app but many useful features are locked in the premium version.
