Internet radio by PCRADIO 2.3.9
Simplistic and dated UI
Considering the many radio apps available out there, a dated interface won't appeal to users especially since it's also poorly designed. There's no tutorial to show users how the app works or even settings to adjust sound quality or change the skin.
The app may seem confusing to new users, who will find themselves simply tapping on everything to find the back button, but there isn't one. Still, users can change the buffer settings to help achieve stable playback in a bad internet connection. Internet radio also comes with a home screen widget that lets you change the station or pause songs.
Radio stations grouped by categories
When you first launch the app, you'll see a list of all music genres, including pop, rock, rap, electronic, etc. All stations are grouped based on genre and there are just a few in each category. Also, some stations are placed in the wrong category so you might stumble upon a jazz radio station when you were actually expecting to hear classical music.
As expected, pop and rock categories have the most stations, seeing as how they're the popular ones. Still, you can also find stations with news and talk shows, e-books or sports. The discography section will play only by a certain artist, but the list of singers needs to be updated and extended.
Favorite stations
If you're looking for a certain song, simply tap its name in the search bar. The app will open Google Now or YouTube to make the search, but it's not able to search if the song might be playing on a certain station.
There's a distinct section with favorited stations and users may filter stations by country. Sound quality is at a medium level, it can only be improved if you upgrade for 4.65$/year. The paid version also comes with a timer, the option to record channels and removed ads.

Bottom Line
Design / UI5
The interface seems dated and in need of an update. It doesn't come with skins or other design settings. |
Function7
It could use more stations but the selection is pretty good. The app doesn't seem to have any stability issues and even if audio quality is medium in the free version it's satisfactory. |
Security9
It needs few permissions from your phone, so you don't have to worry about that. |
Battery5
The app has the potential of being a battery drainer, so you'd better keep your phone plugged in. |
Price8
There are banner ads and additional features to the app must be purchased for 4.65$ per year. |
Compatibility9
Internet radio app should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3.3 or later. |
It needs a bit more work on the UI and more stations.
