Hipmunk Hotels & Flights is one of such apps that can make it easier to find anything you need and offers you the best deals.

Sleek and lightweight interface

The nice thing about this app is that it makes good use of animation and the mascot actually makes it fun and pleasant to find hotel rooms and flights. The app needs online registration either with your Facebook, Google accounts or email addresses. It also features a tutorial that shows you a preview of all the features that it offers and everything that you can do inside the app.

But before you can get started, you should know that the app is only available in a number of countries like the USA, Belgium, Canada, France, UK, Ireland and the Netherlands, meaning it will provide you with offers from said countries if you intend to travel there.

Book flights easily

You'll find all sections of the app in the side menu, tap on flights to search for plane tickets. You must select from one-way, roundtrip and multi-city first and then you can choose the departure airport and arrive.

Charter flights aren't available inside the app, but that doesn't mean that you can't find all sorts of deals. The app lets you select the number of passengers and the class. It also saves your last search in case you wish to check prices again. Apply multiple filters like airlines, alliances or types of flights.

You can also sort flights by price, departure or arrival hour. The agony feature finds you flights with the lowest prices, shortest duration and least amount of stops. You can also enable notifications for when prices of flights drop.

Find hotel rooms at affordable prices

Another great thing about this app is that it lets you find and book hotel rooms at reasonable prices. It lets you filter them by stars, type and chains. You can also sort them by price, average review or industry stars.

Pictures of rooms are provided, together with many reviews and details on amenities that hotels offers. You can also view the hotel's location on the map and book affordable rooms.

It also has a section with flight deals, which supposedly provides you the top deals for weekend getaways, but it doesn't seem to work. In addition, you can set up an account and manage your credit cards, bookings and fare alerts.
