Glovebox 3.4.2.1
Side bars are also great because they can be opened even if other applications run in the background and thus they don't interfere with the overall user experience. One of such apps is Glovebox. It comes with many customization options and lots of features for you to try out.
Sleek interface with a nice tutorial
Because side bar apps are really comprehensive, they don't actually need tutorials or any kind of instructions to get users started. Glovebox however does come with tips on how to access all features and customize the app to your liking.
It also guides you through the process of setting up the app and creating shortcuts on your home screen. You can edit the trigger areas for the sides bar or have the app post notifications and override the statusbar. The app also comes with animation which you can disable if you wish to save battery or make some changes to customize the app.
Customize the app to your liking
The nice thing about this side bar is that it comes with many themes that you can pick from, unlike other similar applications. They're all a bit the same, but differ in the style of icons.
You can also change the sidebar density or enable a fade effect. Folder style can also be modified and the app comes with plenty of icon packs that you can pick from. Other than that, icon spacing can also be modified, and the app comes with the option of creating folders of icons to add to the sidebar.
Other features and options
The free version only comes with the option of adding 8 app shortcuts to the side bar, you can add more if you unlock the premium version for 3.24$. You'll get access to floating widgets and the option of pinning recent tasks, aside from adding as many apps as you like to the side bar.
Few side bar apps are completely free and offer the option of adding an unlimited number of icons. Still, you can change the position of icons easily by simply dragging them on the list and you can access the app even from the lock screen, without having to provide a password to unlock your phone.
