There are many file managers on the market, but if you're looking for a more simplistic one that gets the job done, then try File Selector/Explorer. It's very lightweight but has a rather dated interface. Still, it incorporates all the basic features that you might need.
Dated UI that could use an update
The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions to get you started, but you wouldn't really need them since it sports a really intuitive but dated UI. Still, it comes with 7 possible themes that you can choose from, only the color sets them apart as the overall design is the same.
The layout makes navigation inside the app fluent, but it doesn't have material design. An overflow icon in the controls bar gives users access to all sort of options including the settings menu.
Some settings
You can have the app display hidden archives or show file extensions so you would know what type of files they are. The home page consists of thumbnails for all sort of sections inside the app.
It arranges all of your pictures, images, videos, music and apps into separate locations on the home page, making it extremely easy to access. You don't have to explore all sort of directories to find your favorite picture or video.
The app also offers access to root files, even if your phone wasn't rooted. There's a home icon on the toolbar, so you could return to the launch page fast. Users can also add shortcuts on the home screen for any kind of files.
Organize files easily
It doesn't take long to organize your favorite files, the app lets you sort them by various criteria like name, type, time and size. You can type in keywords and find items easily using the search bar. Display icons by list, list with details or grid, so you can check them out easier.
Batch selection is available, you can share files easily, copy them to other locations, rename items or compress them into archives. View details of files if you wish. It also lets you create directories, but the app doesn't work as file picker.
