Dated and boring UI that really needs an update
The interface really needs an update, since it comes in boring gray colors and uses tabs for sections rather than a side menu. It doesn't need only registration, but you can create an account if you wish using your Facebook profile.
You may find some settings under the overflow icon on the bottom right side of the screen but this section also has a dated design. It doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, you shouldn't really need them since the app isn't that complex, but it may get confusing as some tabs open the same sections.
Read the latest news and check scores
The app opens with the top news, you can read the headlines but you can't view pictures, the hour when they were added or the category they belong to. The app simply arranges the latest articles into a list. Simply tap on them to get more information, but some stories are incomplete and there aren't any suggestions of articles on the same topic.
Still, you can enlarge the text or share stories on social networks. FOX Sports Mobile is great for checking the latest scores, you can view them by date and get extra information like game stats, a summary and plays.
Watch videos and photo galleries
FOX Sports Mobile comes with a dedicated section for videos, but not all of them open in fact some of them load video ads but don't actually open the clip from FOX. Still, photo galleries work.
You can check out the latest news based on the city closest to you and create a list with your favorite teams and sports. However, even after you've created it, the app won't provide you with information and content on your favorite teams, which makes the whole process redundant.
Still, you can get news based on championships and sports but the section is quite buried inside the app. Moreover, users can't set alerts for when new content is added.
