Explorer+ 2.3.0
Lightweight interface
The UI is quite simplistic, with controls on a toolbar at the top of the screen and tools on the bottom. Long tap on the ‘hamburger’ icon on the top right of the screen and you’ll get access to additional features and the settings section.
The app comes with ads and there’s no option of removing them, still it needs few permissions from your phone, only for accessing media files and internet connection to load ads. The manager doesn’t have any instructions, but considering its intuitive interface, you wouldn’t need any.
Adjust text size
Users may adjust the text or row size for file listing. These settings makes it easier to distinguish between directories and identify files. Other than that users may have the app show hidden files on the device or select a start directory for file browsing.
There’s also the option of showing thumbnails, but that could affect performance on slower devices and cause them to lag. In addition, Explorer+ can be set to use Super User privilege to show root and system files, but the feature is available only on devices that have already been rooted.
Sort files
The app makes it easy to sort all files on your device. Simply browse through directories, save files to clipboard and delete those that you no longer need. You can manage multiple files simultaneously or create new directories. There’s also the option of sorting files by name, size or date. The app comes with a search bar, to make it easier to find files and you can also archive files directly from within the app.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is truly lightweight, but a bit simplistic also. It doesn’t come with multiple themes or other customization features. |
Function8
It’s great for sorting files and creating new directories, but considering the multitude of file managers out there, it could use some additional features. |
Security9
The app doesn’t pose any privacy risks as it only needs permission to media files on your device. |
Battery9
Consumption is minimal, which is quite common for file managers so you don’t have to worry about this app draining your battery. |
Price9
It’s completely free of charge, but comes with banner ads which cannot be removed with an upgrade. |
Compatibility8
The developer didn’t mention Android versions required for this app, but it should work just fine even on devices running Android 5.0. |
A lightweight file manager great for sorting files on your Android devices.
