Simplistic but lightweight UI
Users expect drink recipes to have an intuitive UI, to make it easy to mix drinks and check the app at the same time. The app doesn’t have any instructions of use or tips to help new users get accustomed with it.
It also lacks bartending tips or a section with utensils and accessories that professional bartenders use when mixing drinks. While it has 8,500 drink recipes, there are no notifications which makes up believe that the list isn’t periodically updated with new content.
Search for recipes
There’s a search bar at the top of the screen if you wish to find recipes by typing in the name of the drink. It displays results as you type. The menu is located at the bottom of the page. You have the option of favoriting drinks and making them accessible in a separate section.
There’s also the option of displaying the whole list of drinks, arranged alphabetically. In addition, all recipes are divided into categories including cocktails, ordinary drinks or shots. You can find recipes for drinks that use coffee or tea and even for punch.
Search by ingredients
Search for drinks based on ingredients, simply choose a few from the long list available and have the app display drinks that include them. However, the feature doesn’t seem to work and renders no results even if you choose one of the most common ingredients, like apple juice. If you shake your phone, the app will provide you with a random recipe but there’s also a separate section with suggestions. Users have the option of sharing recipes on social networks.
