Cookbook : Free Recipes 7.6.1
CookBook is filled with surprisingly many suggestions of dishes, divided into categories and comes packed with all sorts of features you can use.
Stylish and sleek interface
The app's UI is really sleek, with all its content divided into categories and sporting HD pictures of cooked meals. The menu with all the features is neatly arranged on the left side of the screen. There's a search bar on the top but without auto-fill suggestions and there's a banner ad on the bottom of the screen. The app needs constant internet connection to work and takes a lot of time to load recipes, so be patient.
CookBook comes with a very comprehensive tutorial, explaining all the app's tools and icons so you can concentrate fully on cooking and not have trouble with operating the app. The great thing about CookBook is that recipes are translated into various languages, making it accessible to users from all around the world.
Browse through various recipes divided by category
The app opens with the main sections, including recipes for children, cakes, low calorie or suggestions of meals for the upcoming holiday, so you can use the app to plan the menu you'll be having. The section with favorited recipes is on the top of the screen and based on them the app provides you with similar suggestions to choose from.
The recipes are really easy to make so they don't come with a difficulty level. Also, you may find recipes from various parts of the world, if you were thinking of trying something new and the instructions are very comprehensive. All recipes com with a calorie count and a chart with detailed nutritional data.
Create your own shopping list
The app needs internet connection to load recipes, but whichever ingredients you save in your shopping list will be available offline for when you go to the market. Most recipes come with ingredients that can be found in everyone's fridge or kitchen cabinets. But there are no reviews or ratings and the app doesn't come with a comments section. It's also missing a unit converter and timer.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
The interface is really sleek but it takes a lot to load recipes. Still, it comes with a nice tutorial that you can check out. |
Function8
While the content is better than in many similar apps, CookBook is missing some essential features. It compensates by translating recipes into many languages. |
Security8
It needs only a few permissions from your phone so you don't have to worry about that. |
Battery7
Consumption of battery is slightly above average for similar apps, so better keep a charger nearby. |
Price6
Annoying banner and full screen ads with video make the app less appealing. |
Compatibility8
It should work just fine on devices running Android version 2.3 or later. |
The content is among the best but the app needs a bit more work.
