Compass 360 Pro 1.2.6
Intuitive app, filled with instructions and a manual
An uncomplicated UI is a must for compass apps. Their main functionality must be accuracy in displaying north and south, without over clogging the screen with too many icons. Unfortunately, Compass 360 Pro sports a rather crowded interface with many shortcuts to tools and other apps created by the developer.
There are three skins that you can choose from and they all come in HD. Banner ads are located at the bottom of the screen, next to shortcuts to Google Play for downloading apps.
Calibrate your compass and read your location
The app comes with quite a few settings. You can change the language and select one of the many available within the app or add a vertical or horizontal line to the compass, to resemble a lensatic one.
GPS is also supported, the app displays your latitude, longitude and altitude. In addition to that, you can set the app to select the magnetic north, by using your phone's sensors.
The value of the magnetic field is displayed in the center of the compass. If the number is far from 49, which is the regular value of the magnetic field, it means that the app has detected metal near the phone's sensors and can't display accurate values. When the magnetic field is read, phones must be located far from any metals.
Adjust manual variation and lock the compass
Manual variation of the compass can be adjusted, as well as azimuth values. Compass readings can be locked, so the app would only display magnetic field variations. In addition to this the app comes with several instructions of use and explanations for values of the magnetic field. The app also works in landscape mode.

Bottom Line
Design / UI8
Clogged interface with many icons and shortcuts. There are three skins that you can choose from and many languages. |
Function8
The app performs well, it manages to read magnetic field values rather accurate. It also displays altitude, longitude and the latitude of your position. |
Security9
It needs only the basic permissions from your phone, like location and access to internet connection. No online registration and the app also functions offline. |
Battery8
Not a battery drainer, but don't use this app for too long as it may take up some power considering that it needs internet connection and access to location services. |
Price7
Completely free of charge, but comes with full screen an banner ads. Also, the developer is marketing some its other apps. |
Compatibility8
The app should work on devices running Android version 2.2 or later. |
A neat compass app with some features, but ruined by too many ads.
