Mixcloud 131

Listen to radio mixes and podcasts from around the world
Google Play Store is filled with various radio and podcast apps but users are constantly searching for that one player that incorporates all their needs and sports a stylish interface. Mixcloud has the potential of being a great radio and podcast app, but it does need some more work.

Extremely fluent interface with a stylish design

The first thing that strikes you when you launch the app is its fluency and sleek design. The app comes with a tutorial for new users and all sections are neatly arranged at the top of the screen, right above the banner ad. In addition, there's a search bar for finding cloudcasts, users or tags.

The menu is on the left of the side and it includes all the settings you can do to your account. The app requires users to log in with their Facebook account or provide an email address for signing up. There are no instructions of use, so you'll have to figure it out for yourself.

Listen to various mixes and podcasts

All mixes and podcasts are divided into categories, including business, classical and techno. Tap on one and the app opens a list with the recently added mixes for you to listen to.

The feed section is filled with the latest and most popular mixes to choose from. They come with tags, details on duration and the number of listeners. You have the option of following various users and receiving notifications when they upload new material.

There's a track list that you can check, favorite or repost mixes on your profile. The share feature has some issues and only works at times.

Discover new mixes

The sound quality is almost perfect and the app doesn't seem to have any problem with streaming mixes. Also, the discover section comes with suggestions based on your preferences.

The app doesn't have a widget, but it has a toolbar in the notification section and you can skip tracks from the lock screen. In addition, you can't create and upload mixes using the app and you can't skip to another song from the tracklist. The app also doesn't have a sleep timer.
