File Locker 1.1.0

Protect your content against unauthorized reading, playing, watching
People store all sort of personal information on their phones, especially since they like to use them extensively either for texting or taking pictures. That's why it's best to lock your most personal content so that no one else can access it.

One of the ways in which you can do so is by using File Locker. It's a nifty app with lots of interesting features that would help you manage files and keep them secured from prying eyes.

Fluent UI that could use an upgrade

The app doesn't come with a tutorial or any kind of instructions, but you wouldn't really need them since it does sport a rather intuitive layout. It doesn't use material design, although it would have been nice if it did and the app had a side menu with access to all of its features.

The overflow icon on the bottom of the screen provides users with access to preferences and notifications. It doesn't have any customization features like additional themes or the option to change the color of headers. In addition, you can't set a home directory, one that would open whenever you launch the app.

Lock your files easily

Navigate through all folders on your device and lock the ones that you would like to keep private. The app doesn't come with an image viewer or music player, which means that you would have to open another application on your device in order to view your files. It also doesn't display previews in the form of thumbnails on your phone.

It only offers users the option to lock their devices with a password. You can't pick a pin or a pattern. In addition, there's one master password and no option of retrieving it in case you forget it.

Few lock options

It would have been nice if users had the option to provide an email address for password retrieval. You can unlock files for a certain period of time, in which case the app displays a notification in the status bar of your phone. In addition, there are some settings that you can change.

The app provides you with the option of encoding the file name so that others couldn't read it. You can also encode only part of the file name and have a permanent notification in the status bar. Other than that, the app comes with banner ads but it doesn't provide users with any option of removing them.
