TimeLapse Tools 2.0.0.1
Windows Phone users have at their disposal a handy application that is meant to assist them with the calculations that are involved and it goes by the name of TimeLapse Tools.
Simple and neatly organized interface
This app has a decent look to it, with a combination of green and black and some nicely designed, yet discreet graphics inside the home screen and in all three main sections. Most of the functions are at hand and the available modules can be easily accessed.
Unfortunately, on a Nokia 1250 device running Windows Phone 8.1 when accessing the calculators, the first option, assigned to the format, is barely visible and accessible, with the values virtually impossible to modify. This interface glitch is made worse by the presence of some continuously changing ad banners.
Perform various types of calculations and check out sunrise and sunset times
TimeLapse Tools includes a set of utilities that will help you figure out the length of the time-lapse video, the time needed to take all the photographs and also the optimal frequency for capturing the snapshots.
These calculations take into consideration factors like the video format, expressed in frames per second (fps), the recording time, the playback duration and capture rate. Another useful feature of this app is the ability to display the time when the sun rises and sets for the current location and also specify the exact latitude and longitude values.

Bottom Line
Design / UI5
The appearance of the main window may be quite proper, but when some important part of the interface is not visible inside the areas where the calculations are made, this takes away a lot of points, no to forget the bothersome ads shown inside the GUI. |
Function5
The application offers a handy set of tools that can be of great help for carrying out some necessary calculations and for taking into consideration the hours of sun light. Since only part of the fields can be used, the actual practical use if very much limited so the app loses some points here. |
Security2
With no good reason of doing so, the utility requires access to pretty much every bit of information stored onto the phone. |
Battery8
The power consumption for this app is moderate for most of the time it is functioning and this makes battery usage remain at normal levels. |
Price6
The overall value of this application is much diminished by the shortcomings and intrusive nature it has, so it will hardly satisfy the needs of users as it currently stands. |
Compatibility8
TimeLapse Tools is prepared to be used on Windows Phone 8 and above devices, with a minimum screen resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. |
