Scan To PDF 3.3.2.0

Take pictures or use your stored images to make PDF documents onto your phone
Working with Portable Document Format files is a common activity for most computer users, but nowadays those who prefer using their mobile phone for office-related tasks can carry out many of the operations as well.

Scan To PDF is an app that is addressed to Windows Phone users and allows them to put together PDF documents that rely on the photos stored onto their handsets.

Simple front-end focusing on practicality and ease of use

The clean and friendly interface of the utility makes it possible for everyone to access all the features of the app in no time and use the generous workspace for creating professional looking documents.

Each modification brought to the selected image is shown in the preview area immediately and moving through the lists of saved documents, as well as inside the app's menus is pretty fluent and without glitches. Occasionally you will come to meet a reminder that prompts you to review the app.

Full-featured image editor, but limited feature set for PDF creation

Trying out the application to see what it's all about is very much obstructed by the limitations of the trial version that do not allow adding more than one page per project and since only a single project can be saved, you are basically stuck with one picture.

Nonetheless, you can spend some time getting to terms with the built-in editor and then learning the sharing abilities Scan To PDF has to offer, which include uploading to OneDrive, copying the PDFs to the attached SD card. Unfortunately, you are most likely to come across some instances when the app crashes out of the blue when editing the pics.

Hits & Misses

hits

  • built-in editor for customizing the images
  • supports uploading the PDFs to OneDrive, copying them to an SD card and sending them via email

misses

  • the limitations are too strict and do not allow a complete evaluation of the app
  • the utility crashes when some of the photo editor functions are used
Bottom Line
Design / UI7

The appearance of this app is quite disappointing and features no customizations because it concentrates on offering ease of use.

Function5

Severely restricted in the trial version, Scan To PDF can be barely evaluated. More so, the crashes cannot be overlooked easily, even if the built-in editor offers a complete set of features for transforming the pictures.

Security10

The application treats with all the discretion the system areas where user information is stored and deserves all the appreciation for this.

Battery8

The battery usage is moderate most of the time and sometimes it even goes below that level to reach a noticeably lower power consumption.

Price7

Scan To PDF says to have a lot to offer, but it can barely prove half of its capabilities in a badly limited trial with occasional crashes, so users can surely find better tools in the Store.

Compatibility8

Prepared for the more recent handsets, powered by Windows Phone 8 and above, this utility only needs a standard screen resolution of 480 by 800 pixels to run on supported devices.
