There are numerous people who find it difficult to sleep at night for various reasons, so they look for methods of getting into the right mood for a bit of rest. To help those who are in this situation, some specialized applications have been developed and are available on several platforms.

Windows Phone users have at their disposal quite a few tools of this kind and among them there is one called Relaxing Sounds that brings a set of original sounds, besides the ones that are usually found inside such apps.

Beautiful looks and smooth navigation

This utility comes with a lot of high-quality background images that are assigned for each sound in its database. The graphics are also fairly well designed from end to end and browsing through the various sections of the application is fluent for the most part.

In the lower part of the screen you will have a stream of advertisement banners that are constantly changing and can be quite disruptive at times.

This app keeps all the audio files well organized and structured into several categories, so it will be a lot easier for you to find and play the ones you want. Inside the 5 main categories are all sorts of sounds, including several types of rain, country ambiance, nature and musical instruments.

An original set of audio tracks awaits inside the "Appliances" area, from where you can play sounds of washing machine, dishwasher, or clothes dryer to name some of the listed entries.

Unfortunately, Relaxing Sounds will close unexpectedly at times or the sounds will not play anymore and only by reinstalling the app will you be able to solve this issue. Also, for many of the audio tracks the loops seem stitched with less care, as the breaks are very much noticeable.

Design / UI8 The looks of this application are quite nice and the pictures that were chosen to be representative for each sound are of a great quality for the most part. The ad banners spoil some of the good feel of the app.	Function5 There are lots of issues with the actual operation of the utility, so despite the fair diversity of sounds it offers and the good built-in timer, there are the crashes and the malfunctions of the save function that render the recording feature useless, so it loses a lot from the functional perspective.	Security6 The app needs permission to look into a lot of system areas, many of which are not related to its functionality.
Battery6 Relaxing Sounds needs quite a bit of power to function correctly and this translates into a high battery usage while it is running.	Price7 The app offers a relatively small number of sounds and the numerous functional glitches could make a lot of users to look for another tool.	Compatibility8 This utility is ready to run on the more recent handsets that are powered by Windows Phone 8 and above.
