For Windows Phone users this can be easily done with a bit of help from one of the specialized utilities available on the market and one of them is suggestively named Recorder.
Clean and appealing GUI
This application has a pretty well designed interface, at least for the home screen where the recordings are made. The polished graphics are not present, though, in the storage area of the captured audio files.
There is a basic kind of customization you can bring to each recording, more precisely it relates to the colored bar that is placed next to each entry, so by assigning different colors to certain audio tracks you will be able to make them easier to find.
Less pleasant is the encounter with the advertisements that come in the form of some flashing banners, which are all over the bottom of the screen and keep on changing. Sometimes, a full screen advert may also come into view.
One tap recording and automatic saving of the audio files
Recorder is a breeze to use since it doesn't have any configurations, so you can start the audio capture right away. With one tap on the dedicated button on the main screen the recording is triggered and you can stop in a similar manner to have the file saved and available for the "History" section.
The meter shown in the upper part of the screen will help you make an idea about the volume of the voice being recorded, so if you see it constantly in the orange and red area you should move the microphone a bit farther from the sound source.
Fast upload and output handling
The utility integrates seamlessly with OneDrive and you will be able to export to your account all the recordings in no time.
A bit of a bother is the fact that the files are sent without an extension, so when you download them onto your computer they appear to be impossible to open. However, assigning the WAV extension to them will do the trick, as the file data becomes available and the recordings can now be edited or played.
A more annoying behavior of this app is the constant crashing, even while recording something, which makes it really hard to work with at times.
