Font Lounge 1.4.6.0
Some workarounds might exist, though, so if you are curious how you can send out a message written in a custom font or if you want to that typeface onto another device, then it may be worth checking out the application that goes by the name of Font Lounge.
Dull interface, bent on practicality
This utility has a pretty simple and not too attractive GUI that has a discreet background and common graphics throughout. The few functions it has are all available from inside the main screen where they are kept close at hand.
Going through the long list of fonts and switching from one screen to another are quite smooth and without any noticeable delays or other type of flaws.
There is, nonetheless, a quite visible nuisance that follows you around the app, as it comes in the form of some animated advertisement banners that are displayed at the bottom of the screen.
Quick font selection, with samples on the side
Font Lounge provides a really impressive collection of typefaces for you to choose from and the list goes well beyond 150 entries.
The great thing about it is that for every font you select a sample text will be shown right next to it, so you can view on the spot how it can look like when used for editing documents.
Write down a short message and save it as an image
Because of the limitations of the operating system, this app and any other similar tool cannot make any modifications to the system characters, so the texts you can write down in the designated box appear in the custom font only in there.
There is a limit of 200 characters for those messages and once you finish writing , you have the possibility to save them as images, because this is the only way in which you would be able to send them out and preserve the original look of the font.
If you fancy using that typeface onto a PC or other device that supports importing and using TTF files, Font Lounge enables you to upload the respective file to your OneDrive account and use it as you see fit.

Bottom Line
Design / UI3
The unappealing interface of this application and the pesky ads that cover some of the lower side of the screen make it lose a lot of points from the visual perspective. |
Function6
There are plenty of entries on the font list and the upload to OneDrive feature is a welcomed plus, but there are no extra options, except for increasing or decreasing the text size. |
Security10
The application is very discreet and doesn't need to access any secure areas of the system, so it can be installed and used safely. |
Battery7
The power consumption seems to be quite reduced while the app is in use, but keeping it in the background will take up a bit more power than expected. |
Price9
Since it makes available all its features free of costs, Font Lounge has a very good value, but there are some annoying adverts inside. |
Compatibility9
Ready to run on most Windows Phone devices currently in use, the utility only needs version 8 or higher of the OS. |
