File Explorer Plus 1.1.0.0

A simple tool that you can use to go through files on your local storage and SD card
When it comes to managing the files stored on Windows Phones many users know that it is a bit difficult to do, especially since the system doesn't offer a dedicated function for this purpose and the only way to go about is with help form a third-party app.

Among the specialized utilities that are available in the Store, you can try out File Explorer Plus, an easy to use application that provides some basic, yet very useful features.

Friendly front-end, made for practical use

The looks of this app are decent, with a nice theme going on and some average graphics all through the utility, while the content is kept neatly organized and ordered according to specific criteria.

More precisely, if the music files and the local storage items appear in alphabetical order, the photos and videos are arranged by date and are displayed in the order they were created.

Moving through the menus and sections of File Explorer Plus is smooth and without any delays of other similar flaws, but there is a constant source of discontent represented by the ad banners that appear everywhere inside the application's GUI.

Browse the stored content and manage files

The main purpose of this utility is to serve as a means of exploring the SD card and local storage content and it allows you to look through the folders hosted in those areas, but there are a few shortcomings as well.

Some folders from the SD card are not visible for some reason, while if any of the stored files are not recognized by the app, they will not appear in the list. In order to open the filetypes that are recognized by the app you will need to have a dedicated utility installed onto the handset.

A noticeable plus is the fact that you will be able to access the temporary data folder on the local storage where copies of opened pictures or other files from the attached card are kept. You can delete the contents of this folder in order to reclaim some storage space.

The items on the SD card and local storage can be copied or shared via Bluetooth, but if the second option works well, the first one is less effective. More precisely, you will not be able to make copies of an item on the same kind of storage, so the files can only go from the SD card to the local storage and vice versa.

Basic photo and music management

File Explorer Plus will enable you to go through the audio files and pictures you keep on your device and if the images can be viewed up close, opening the songs is not possible.

On the other hand, the music files can be selected and deleted is necessary, while this is not available for the photos, so the advantages and disadvantages are balanced among these two file categories.
