For those who have at their disposal Windows Phone handset, there are plenty if utilities that provide various options in this respect and Camera Effects is one of the apps that use a more original approach.
Nice looking and easy to use interface
This application brings you a neat GUI that is made to resemble a lot with the back of a digital camera, featuring a cool skin and a smart placement of all its functions. Going through the various sections of the utility is seamless, but on certain occasions the app might crash suddenly.
The preview area for the live feed coming from the rear camera is somewhat limited, covering less then half of the screen. The filters are applied quite promptly and the modifications come into effect almost instantly.
Capture images or use saved pictures for processing
Camera Effects is primarily made to serve as a live filtering solution that enables you to take a shot and save it with the filter already applied, but it can work in a more familiar manner as well.
More precisely, you have the possibility to select a pic that is already stored locally onto your phone and personalize it on the spot.
Unfortunately, the trial version of this app does not allow you to save your work, so you will have to purchase a license to unlock this functionality.
Pick the right effects and add frames to customize the photos
The app offers a good assortment of filters that you can go through by pressing the "Fx" button inside the main screen. The list of effects appears immediately and you can check each of them out before choosing the one to apply to the currently loaded image.
There are plenty of photo frames you can use to further personalize the pictures and by tapping the corresponding button inside the GUI you will be able to enter the full list.
There is also another way of browsing the filters and frames, namely by using the arrow buttons conveniently placed inside the main screen of Camera Effects.
A neat camera flash control button is at your disposal, so you can set the flash on auto mode, disable it or have it fire under any circumstances. To share your edited pics, the app allows you to publish them on Facebook and Twitter or save them to your OneDrive account.
