App Locker relies on an access code to allow selected utilities to launch and you have to set it up when starting the utility for the first time. This can be changed at any moment by accessing the dedicated section inside the "Options" menu.
When deciding on the master password you have the possibility to go for a numeric PIN code or you can choose to use letters and symbols as well. In case the access code is entered wrongfully, an alarm will set off and only by providing the right passkey will it stop.
There is a password recovery option built-in this app and it uses a security question for which you choose the answer that when provided will reveal the passcode.
It is important to note that the protection provided by this application covers only the instances where the apps are launched using the secure shortcuts made with the utility, but the respective apps can be accessed unrestricted from the App list.
