Withings Baby Companion 1.4

When you have a new baby you want to make sure that it has everything it needs to grow healthy. Monitoring its growth is particularly important since you need to be able to tell the doctor any information that may be essential, but also so you know the details yourself.

The Withings Baby Companion is an app that was built for particularly this purpose. The app requires that you log in with a Withings account, or you can set up a new one directly from the interface.

Set up your baby's profile

You’ll then have to log in some info about your baby, including the name, date of birth, height and weight, as well as the gender. It’s even possible to add a picture.

The app then puts the info you provided into a grid, giving you data about the baby’s weight gain, height and feeding pattern. Talking about feeding, you can log all sessions, mentioning when you’re changing from the right to the left breast.

By swiping the widget you’ll find just how many feeds the baby has had over the past week, including those form the current day. The app provides a graphic so you can more easily keep an eye on how things are going.

It’s also possible to log your baby’s bottles so you can remember at all times when the last bottle was and how much the baby has had. For these, you can adjust the bottle’s size, which will  have the app measure not only the quantity the baby has had, but also the volume ingested each day.

More data is better

When it comes to the baby’s weight and height things are pretty much the same, with the ability to log in new data at any time and a graph so you can more easily observe the evolution.

Another thing that’s possible with this app is to take photos of your baby and share them with the world via Twitter, Facebook or email.

The app’s Settings area allows you to make some adjustments to the way the app works, but not too many. In fact, you can choose the unit measure for weight (kg, lb, and lb oz), height (m or ft), and volume (ml or oz).

All in all, this is a nice app and many parents will find it quite useful for keeping track of their children’s evolution.
