Multiframe 2.1
There are better collage apps out there
While Photo Collages for iOS 7 certainly delivers on its promise, it’s not exactly intuitive. Half of the imagery flashed before your eyes is either a tricky ad or a nag screen to buy the full version or to try different apps. Before you even start using the thing, it asks you to rate it in the App Store and consider checking out other titles from Apalon Apps. Not exactly an experience worth bothering your head with.
Simple layout, very few editing options
Some people appreciate a simple app. But it depends on the purpose of the app. Collage tools, for instance, need more than just a handful of borders.
Granted, the UI is designed pretty well. You start off with a selector that asks you how many photos you want to stitch together, and then proceeds to give you some frame options. Once you upload a photo in each box, you can pan it around until it sits in the right position relative to your frame, then tap and hold on it to bring more editing options.
The app comes with a built-in timer, which allows you to take some really cool selfies or group photos. There are plenty of effects to improve your photos without spending money on them, like it happens with other similar photo apps.
Developer is greedy
The sharing options are the same ones you’d expect from any camera app (Facebook, Instagram, Message, email, etc). You can’t share without a watermark (at least not in the free version), which is enough to make one consider ditching it altogether and go hunting for a different collage app. For the record, there are countless others out there that do the job twice as good for much less.

Bottom Line
Design / UI6
Nice design but the ads are reluctant and navigation through the options isn’t quite easy. The visual experience is not very pleasant. |
Function7
You’re given just a handful of editing options, and the watermark cannot be removed. |
Security9
Has the usual online sharing tools which are mostly your own responsibility. |
Battery8
Easy on the battery and doesn’t drain too much power during usage. |
Price5
Despite being offered for free, the app is actually incomplete without in-app purchases. And the developer reminds you of that at every step. Plus, the ads are never-ending. |
Compatibility9
Has a dedicated iPad version and only requires iOS 6 to run. |
Not the best collage app you could choose from the iTunes Store.
