Darkroom - Photo Editor 1.1

Edit the photographs on your phone in a few easy steps
We all want our photos to look their best, for the lighting to be perfect, for the contrast to be just right and for them to look like they weren’t actually taken with the help of a camera phone by someone who knows very little about proper photography techniques.

In order to handle Photoshop or any other professional tool you need a lot of time and skill and you most often than not can’t actually do everything on your phone that you could on a desktop or laptop computer.

Meet Darkroom

Darkroom is an app that gives you plenty of control over the photos on your phone. The tool is easy to use and offers powerful tools to handle anything you throw its way.

The tool automatically gathers up all your photographs and displays them in a grid on the screen, letting you pick which ones you want to edit. Once you’ve made your choice, you get access to the actual editing tools.

The crop feature lets you manually adjust the size of the crop, as well as the ratio for the frame if you want to use that one. It’s not just the frame that you can adjust, but also the photo’s inclination, for which you can use the slider over the degrees line, which should help you if you want a more artsy result or to fix something you messed up while taking the picture by holding the phone inclined.

Darkroom comes with a bunch of filters you can play around with, which immediately change the way your picture looks like. Unlike other tools, there’s no intensity adjustments to be made regarding these filters.

Fix the details

Then, you can make some further adjustments such as to fix the brightness, contrast, saturation, temperature and sharpness levels or to add a vignette.
While the next feature is blocked from users who choose to not pay for the app, there’s also a “Curves” tab which helps in getting the perfect tones. This is a feature that’s most often encountered in professional apps.

There’s also a history tab where you can see all the changes you’ve made to the picture and backtrack a few steps.

Overall, Darkroom is a pretty nice tool that offers you a lot of room to handle the finer points of your editing job. It’s not exactly a complicated tool, so you should be able to handle it just fine.
